My thanks to Lora Beth for this little story:
"A man pulled up next to a lil girl walking home from school and said, 'If you get in, I'll give you a lollipop.' The lil girl kept walking. Following along slowly, the man said, 'Come on get in the car with me and I'll give you two lollipops.' She kept her eyes on the sidewalk and continued on her way. The man said, 'Get in with me and I'll give you the whole bag of lollipops!' Finally the girl turned and said, 'Look Daddy, YOU bought the Chevy, YOU ride in it!'"

Remembering Polygamy of Old...
The following link is in rememberance Joseph Smith's numerous wives. It's a particularly interesting discovery to look at the marriage dates (May 1843 was a particularly busy time for Joe), and which women were already married at the time of their marriage to Smith.

The Tanner's Retirement is Forthcoming...
The following article was written in March of 2003, and even though it's outdated it still holds much truth for the present situation.
http://www.rickross.com/reference/mormon/mormon104.html
The article begins by mentioning the Tanner's plans for future retirement. Unfortunately, since that article was written the individual who would have been taking over their positions has left the ministry (actually he left within the last two weeks). Now the Tanner's find themselves praying for God's guidance as to who should be involved in the ministry after they leave.
Let's be praying for this vital ministry!!

Quotations...
"Love is the beauty of the soul."
"Seek not to understand that you may believe, but believe that you may understand."
"The world is a book and those that do not travel read only one page."
"This is the very perfection of a man, to find out his own imperfections."
"Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe."
"A thing is not necessarily true because badly uttered, nor false because spoken magnificently.
Quotes by Saint Augustine

The Mormon Trinity...
Okay, so the LDS Church has this little doctrine called eternal progression. It reads, "As man is god once was, as god is man may become." Think about that for a second....they believe men are one day able to become gods.
So, I'm online today and I come across someone's (most definitely a non-mormon) comment on what would be the holy ghost interpretation of this doctrine:
"As Casper is, the Holy Ghost once was. As the Holy Ghost is, Casper may become."
Now I'm only left wondering, what is the Jesus version of this doctrine? Maybe I should work on completing the trinity of the doctrine for the LDS Church.

The Investment Paradigm...
I strongly encourage you to read this well written article I found online. The author of this article has hit upon a concept that I've seen in the lives of numerous cult members, this is the first time I've seen a name for this concept..."Investment Paradigm."

I'm in LOVE...
Okay, so that title was a little misleading, but I do believe that love comes in all shapes and sizes, this particular one looks like a map. That's right I love maps!! This really is an old love of mine, for some reason I've always liked looking at maps.
Maps tend to remind me of all the places I want to visit someday. They could be world maps or just a simple state map. Each map gets me thinking of long trips and unique cultures, or just short day trips that get me home in time to sleep in my own bed.
A couple of years ago I checked out maps on eBay and ended up purchasing several old world maps from back in the early 1900's. These maps are now framed and are awaiting the time when I will hang them on my study wall. The historical maps are also a love of mine, because they remind me of where we've come from (they tell a interesting story).
Recently, I've decided that when I move into my new apartment I will be ordering wall maps of the world, the united states, and one each of Virginia and Utah. Yeppers, this is the purpose of this particular blog, just to share my new idea for a decorating motif. Stylish, ain't it?

Trust and Patience...
I've been working at a Ford Dealership for several weeks now, and I'm very unhappy about it at this point. The work itself doesn't make me unhappy, I actually enjoy being around customers and Ford trucks. It is having to work in a predominately male environment, and having my presence there resented by the men that makes my working hours so unpleasant.
So I've come to a point in my life where I stand at a crossroads and patiently wait for an answer from God. I know that God will lead me where He wants me (at my current job or a new one) and I trust Him in the paths He leads.
The problem in this situation is me. I no longer want to be at a job where I daily face subtle hostility. I'm also struggling with a lack of patience for God's timing. This is really all I have to say on the matter, just that I'm struggling and haven't resolved anything, other than to give it over to God's hands (which isn't always the easiest thing to do). So I trust in the Lord and I await His guidance in patience.
